Sandcastles are castles made of sand and water and are often made on a sandy beach or in a sandpit. Making sand castles has turned into an art form called sand sculpture.

The World’s Biggest Sand Castle Contest is held in Havre-Albert. Havre-Albert is a tiny sandbar located in the archipelago of the Magdalen Islands in Quebec, Canada.  Du Havre Beach has a 7-mile shoreline.  The beach’s fine grain sand is ideal for sand sculpting. The 32nd edition of the Concurs de Chateaux de Sable will be held this year on the 10-12 August.
