There are 150 such libraries around the world. MUSIC The “Human Library” originated in Denmark in 2000. The project is meant to combat prejudice. Library guests choose which volunteer they’d like to check out, based on titles the human books assign themselves. Current titles on the website are homeless, polyamorous, autism. Library guests sit down with their books for half an hour or more to listen to their personal stories.
